Grinding wheel dimentions
The number (drawing number) following the grinding wheel shape defines all its dimensions. Each dimension is preceded by a letter that identifies a specific dimension of the grinding wheel.
| D | Diameter |
| T | Overall thickness |
| H | Bore |
| U | Thickness of the section |
| X | Depth of the section |
| W | Rim width |
| V | Face angle |
| A | Angle n°1 |
| B | Angle n°2 |
| R | Radius |
| T1 | Reduced hub thickness |
| U1 | Reduced thickness of the section |
| E | Thickness at bore |
| K | Inside recess diameter |
| S | Angle of body |
| d | Offset diameter from body |
| J | Hub diameter |
| Dx | Diameter of the second layer |
| Ux | Thickness of layer 2 |
| Uz | Thickness of layer 3 |
| Wx | Rim width layer 2 |
| Wz | Rim width layer 3 |
| A1 | Clearance angle n°1 |
| A2 | Clearance angle n°2 |
| Rx | Radius 2 |
| Rz | Radius 3 |
| Kx | Second inside recess diameter |
| CL | Keyway width |
| BC | Bolt circle |
Body material |
The two letters following the drawing number define the type of wheel body. The first letter indicates the material, while the second specifies the type of bond.
| AR | Aluminium / phenolic bond |
| MR | Pressed aluminium (cup wheel) / phenolic bond |
| PR | Pressed aluminium / phenolic bond |
| SR | Steel / phenolic bond |
| AP | Aluminium / polyimide and hybrid bond |
| CP | Pressed copper / polyimide and hybrid bond |
| XP | Aluminium and Pressed Copper / polyimide and hybrid bond |
| AM | Aluminium / metal bond |
| SM | Steel / metal bond |
| SH | Steel / metal-vitrified bond |
Modification of a dimension
This modification, engraved after the drawing number, allows us to adjust certain dimensions (e.g. the angle) and profile the grinding wheel according to the customer's requirements without creating a new drawing number.
